1. Search the room type, not the hotel
Hotels with a tub room usually have only a few. The tub is attached to a room type: a king whirlpool suite, a jacuzzi suite, or an "upgraded room with whirlpool tub". Hotels call it a whirlpool most often (81.4% of the rooms we list), then jacuzzi (16.9%) and hot tub (8.1%). Search all three words.
2. Look outside downtown
Downtown hotels rarely have in-room tubs. They cluster in suburban and roadside hotels, small inns and getaway towns. B&Bs and inns have them most often (30.5% of those we checked), then hotels (12.3%) and motels (10.6%).
3. Pick the right chain
Some chains put whirlpool suites in many of their hotels: AmericInn (42.6%), Country Inn & Suites (28.0%), Americas Best Value (27.4%), Baymont (27.2%). Extended-stay brands almost never do: Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites, Candlewood Suites, Staybridge Suites had none in our checks. See which hotel chains have jacuzzi rooms.
4. Book the named room, then confirm
Choose the room type with the tub on the booking page, not a standard king with a note. Then call the hotel the day before and ask them to confirm your room has the tub and that it works. 37% of Google review comments about hotel hot tubs are complaints, mostly tubs out of order or slow to fill.
5. Or use a list that has done the checking
Tubroom lists 3,660 hotels in 248 cities where we confirmed a bookable room with the tub inside, and names the room to book. Start with your city, or browse by room type.
