When is a jacuzzi weekend cheapest?
Pick your weekend carefully: in some cities the price doubles. The median across all cities was $133 for November 13, 2026 and $125 for January 15, 2027, but single cities swing far more. The November weekend cost about twice the January one or more in South Bend, IN ($267 against $110), Baton Rouge, LA ($218 against $94), Raleigh, NC ($208 against $95), Green Bay, WI ($309 against $142), Winston-Salem, NC ($216 against $101). Most of these are college or pro football towns, so a home game that weekend is the likely cause. A few cities go the other way and were dearer in January: Charleston, SC ($307 against $118), Jackson, WY ($320 against $135), Allentown, PA ($152 against $85). Before you book, check what is on in town that weekend, and price a second weekend.
What are jacuzzi rooms like?
- 22.5% also have a fireplace in the room (256 hotels).
- 10.5% say the tub fits two people (119 hotels); 32.1% have at least one romantic feature (tub for two, fireplace, honeymoon suite or described as romantic).
- Only 14 hotels list a heart-shaped tub, mostly in Pennsylvania and the Midwest.
- Hotels call it a whirlpool (59.2%) more often than a jacuzzi (38.3%) or a hot tub (17.7%). Search all three words when you book.
- Where the room size is listed (79 rooms), the median is 400 sq ft; the middle half are 325 to 528 sq ft.
- Hotels with a jacuzzi room average 4.09 stars on Google against 4.06 for the rest: no real difference.
Do guests like hotel hot tubs?
66% of review comments about the hot tub are positive and 34.3% negative, across 689 hotels with a jacuzzi room (17,520 comments, as Google groups them). Complaints are mostly about tubs that are out of order, slow to fill or not clean. Some comments are about a pool hot tub at the same hotel, so read this as a rough guide. Our advice: book the named room type and ask the hotel to confirm the tub works the day before.
Method
- Population: every lodging business Google Maps lists in each area and its suburbs, within a set radius (usually 40 km), for 230 areas: every US metro area of 250,000+ people, the largest metro in each state, and 35 getaway towns. Rentals, cabins, campgrounds and non-lodging listings are excluded. Each hotel is counted once.
- What counts: a bookable room type with a jacuzzi, whirlpool, jetted tub or hot tub inside the room, found on the hotel's own website or, for chains that hide room types, in booking-site listings for that hotel. Pool, spa and shared hot tubs, soaking tubs without jets, cabins, vacation rentals and adult-themed motels do not count. Every match was reviewed by hand.
- Prices: the lowest nightly rate (before tax) Google Hotels showed for 2 adults at each published hotel, for November 13, 2026 (Friday to Sunday) and January 15, 2027 and November 17, 2026 midweek. City figures use cities with 6 or more priced hotel-nights. Event weekends push some cities up; the two weekends are shown separately in the table.
- Limits: hotels that do not describe their rooms online can be missed, so the share is a floor. Brand shares come from hotels in our areas, not every hotel in the brand. Review counts come from Google's grouping of review topics.
